Time to talk about property tax
Everybody seems to be having a problem with the increases this year, we do. Take a look at what your doing folks, and the legality of some of the increases, ie Hot Sulpher Springs, and after we get a bit more data, we're gonna talk about this, big time. Remember the survey you sent out, Grand County, you should send it out again, cause that one was before the tax increase.
This thing is being passed out in town, and of coarse everyone has a right to their opinion

Well I'm not sure what you are saying here, but a lesson in grammar might help, or maybe, just a thought, actually picking a subject
I'd like to know who this person is, hearsay says it's a local business lady, but we're not sure. Talk about being prejudiced, LOL, this one takes the cake. Everyone has the right to be in this town, and live where they please, everyone.
Legend has it, this person is shocked at their new property tax figures. Well with your attitude you deserve the increase.
Winter is here and it doesn't seem like it. WE WANT SNOW and a lot of it. The town is the same, and the politics are heating up. I want Western week back, they want Western Hour, LOL. We want the Mountain Man Rendezvous, they want... We want a 365 day party, and they want! Guess we want the retailers to decide. Oh by the way retailers does not include realtors.
Just a thought, so can we get winter going and get the bears in hibernation?
It's August and...
These are the opinions of the owners of this site and do not represent all locals
It's August and we are tired. Many of us have been working two or three jobs to make ends meet, and we look forward to the cold winter coming up.
In truth this is a very tough place to live year round. We have found the utilities to be intermittent and very expensive. In the summer the places we love to dine at are crowded, and our friends are so tired after their day at work, are, like us, likely to be found at home asleep on their couch. It's tough here.
We live in one of the most beautiful towns in Colorado, and as you visit us here please be gentle as we all have rather well established personalities, and may get a response not well taken. Don't get us wrong we love tourists, but you may want to refrain from the following comments to us... (These are all true) August answers in Yellow
How do you get around in the winter?
We all have sled teams, and mastodons to help us get around. Without the use of snow mobiles, cars, 4 wheel drives, the internet, and other transport methods we would have to leave , of course many summer people just leave for the fun of it or the lack of interest.
Can you live here in the winter?
No, but we have kept trying for the past 120 years
Where's your Chamber of Commerce?
"I Don't think we have one, there's a building at the end of town that says they are!"
"Your forest is dead, why did you let this happen to us"
We didn't know you were coming
"Is there a real Bank in Town?"
No
"You need more parking"
We can bulldoze shadow mountain to accomadate
"Why isn't the lake any bigger?"
We have a budget proposal on the agenda
"Is there a Wal-Mart here?" (We only have a population of 440)
Wal-Mart's are bigger than the town
"All your stores are cheap and junky"
I suspect you are used to Wal-Mart
"It's so hazy, can you call someone?"
I'll call the EPA Right Now for You
"Where are the BIG mountains?"
Your on them
"Why do we have to pay to get into your little park?" Referring to Rocky Mountain National Park
Please ask Mr. Bush
The Theory of Relativity applies to these comments. Please ask us questions, and never give us an answer that we have to question.
For us, it may not be as fun. There is little do do when you work all day, and at night many of us hang out at the local watering holes. We may be a little crabby in the morning, but so be it. It's a little hard to hike after working a 10 hour day, just to pay rent and utilities.
