East of Aspen and Independence Pass
One of the single lane sections. As I remember, when you run into one of these sections, the downhill vehicle has the right of way. This stems from the old days when the vehicles had a better reverse than forward, thus it was easier to back up the hill to yield.
As you wind your way up the pass, the view of
the mountains becomes more pronounced.
