Day 3

Today was City Day, We did Wichita, OK City, and Dallas  Thumbnail Gallery

Terrell, Texas to Hammond, La

Day 4  The day from hell  Photos

A little rain after leaving Texas but the fun started when we turned onto I 49.  120 miles of 60 mph crosswinds.  Once we started to cross the Achafalaya Causeway a tree fell cross the road right in front of us.  We hit it doing 60+.  There was only seconds before we hit the tree, in heavy traffic, there was no damage to the truck but I'm sure the CB channels were buzzing with the news that a U Haul truck pulverized the tree before the many cars behind us slammed on brakes and tried to avoid the mess we left behind.  Now we are in a motel called The Colonial Inn.  A very rude man named "Rashid" apparently owns it and we are still waiting for the water to be turned on.  This is one we may cancel the credit card on.  Across the street is a huge truck stop, think we will sit and have a cocktail and watch the truckers do their thing.

Day 5, into Florida  Photos

Hammond, La to Lake City, Fl

We passed thru the front that chased us all the way here for the past 5 days.  Really heavy rains thru Mobile and all the way to Tallahassee.  Wasn't a big deal except for the winds.  Got to see the battleship Alabama, as we were crossing the bridge

Day 6  The Road Home
